Since its formation in 2015 under the leadership of drummer and composer Antoine Pierre, this exceptional Belgian sextet has left its mark on the European jazz scene with a sound that is electric, organic and deeply original. Three albums, over 100 concerts, unanimous critical acclaim : URBEX has been one of the most memorable collective adventures of its generation.
\nThe high point of this journey remains Suspended, recorded live at Flagey’s Studio 4 during the Brussels Jazz Festival in January 2020 \u2014 a packed house, energy at its peak, warm applause \u2014 a passionate tribute to Miles Davis’s electric period and the unforgettable Bitches Brew, which was then celebrating its 50th anniversary. Barely two months after that concert, the world came to a standstill : lockdown was to deprive the band of the tour it deserved, and abruptly cut short the momentum of music that had never been so alive.
