[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Italian artist duo Robberto and Milena Atzori bring immersive universes to life by mixing painting and sculpture with textiles and embroidery. For their upcoming show at KULT XL Ateliers<\/a>, they dive into the depths of our dreams to reveal a new world we can learn a thing or two from.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Based in Brussels since 2017, this artist couple draws inspiration from the human experience. Fascinated by the tensions in our society, they explore the struggle between life and death, science and mysticism, materiality and spirituality. Their practice finds itself at a crossroads between fine arts and craftsmanship, combining the best of both worlds to bring their projects to life.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]H Y P N A G O G I E<\/a> was born during the first confinement when what we knew real life to be vanished into the unknown, much like what we experience during the first stage of sleep: hypnagogy. In this phase, our normal perception of reality is altered and our mind creates images that are free from any rational concept or thought.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Wanting to bring this subconscious experience to life, Robberto & Milena developed a new world that questions our senses and memories, our perception of reality, our perception of ourselves and other human beings. Inspired by Hieronymus Bosch\u2019s Garden of Earthy Delights<\/em>, the visitor is invited to experience an immersive installation that takes them on a multi-sensory journey through a colourful dreamscape full of imaginary creatures, animals and plants made out of painted and embroidered textile sculptures.
