Une brochette de c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9s d\u00e9file, de Britney Spears \u00e0 Melania Trump et Frank Sinatra. On rit, au pays de la positivit\u00e9, de la r\u00e9ussite et de l\u2019outrance jusqu\u2019\u00e0 \u00eatre pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9\u00b7es dans l\u2019envers du d\u00e9cor : l\u00e0, dans les coulisses, les masques tombent et les couleurs tapageuses du paradis plastique s\u2019affadissent. Les stars se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent \u00eatre des sosies rat\u00e9s, p\u00e2les figurant\u00b7es\u00a0d\u2019une mascarade grotesque.\u00a0Bien avant d\u2019y avoir mis les pieds, Pauline Desmarets a \u00e9t\u00e9 habit\u00e9e par un imaginaire \u00e9tasunien depuis l\u2019enfance. Des clips MTV aux paroles de Britney Spears, elle s\u2019imagine dans les motels glauques vus dans tant de films ou encore sous la neige \u00e0 Central Park. La t\u00e9l\u00e9 contribue alors largement \u00e0 imposer une culture pop venue tout droit d\u2019Outre-Atlantique. Derri\u00e8re le mythe de cette nation model\u00e9e par les faux-semblants, on trouve une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 min\u00e9e par une violence exacerb\u00e9e. Puisque tout peut y advenir et participe d\u2019une \u00e9norme farce, en 2016 et contre toute attente, Donald Trump devient pr\u00e9sident par orgueil et m\u00e9galomanie. En 2025, il plonge son pays et le monde dans une dystopie devenue bien r\u00e9elle.\u00a0\u00a0Avec sa compagnie Canicule, Pauline Desmarets propose un nouveau spectacle sur l\u2019attraction folle que la culture US a exerc\u00e9 sur nous.
