Centraal in het programma staat de overgave aan de liefde voor God, verbonden met de eeuwenoude ceremonie van de Turkse soefidansers. Voor soefi\u2019s wordt de dhikr beschouwd als een manier om spirituele verlichting te bereiken en zich volledig aan God over te geven. De dhikr is ook een vorm van eredienst waarbij muziek en po\u00ebzie, samen met repetitieve dansen, worden uitgevoerd binnen een ceremonie die bedoeld is om God te gedenken. Vanuit de universele verwantschap tussen muzikale tradities omarmt het Hathor Consort in dit fascinerende programma deze grensoverschrijdende soefitradities en verkent het hun rijkdom.
