Een documentaire-drama over de 25-jarige filmmaker en videotheekmedewerker Cheryl en haar zoektocht naar een actrice uit de jaren 30: The Watermelon Woman.<\/p>\n

Als lesbische zwarte vrouw in de filmwereld wilde Cheryl Dunye met deze film de onderbelichte geschiedenis van zwarte queervrouwen in Hollywood aan het licht brengen, omdat \u2018onze verhalen nooit zijn verteld\u2019. De film laat zien hoe moeilijk de zoektocht naar informatie over deze groep is omdat de historische archieven deze groep uitsluit of gewoonweg negeerde. Een serieus kritiek, maar zeker niet zonder humor.<\/p>\n

De Sous-Entendu\u00b7e\u00b7s filmclub<\/p>\n

In samenwerking met Kinograph zal het feministische collectief Les Sous-Entendu.e.s documentaires en films vertonen, gevolgd door een debat met gastsprekers over thema’s met betrekking tot seksistisch en seksueel geweld en de vertegenwoordiging van VINTA-mensen (vrouwen, intersekse personen, niet-binaire personen, trans personen en agenders) op de grote en kleine schermen.<\/p>\n

Van kassuccessen tot documentaires, we bekijken ze vanuit een feministische en intersectionele invalshoek.<\/p>\n
