De tentoonstelling wordt gecureerd door Claire Leblanc en vormt de eerste solotentoonstelling van de kunstenares in Brussel.<br \/>\nDe titel Lithologies verwijst naar de studie van gesteenten binnen de geologie, maar het gebruik van de meervoudsvorm geeft het begrip een po\u00ebtische dimensie, waarbij het naar analogie doet denken aan de term \u00ab mythologie\u00ebn \u00bb. De gesteenten worden zo verhalen, getuigen van zichtbare of onzichtbare werelden, die de microkosmos van minerale structuren verbinden met de macrokosmos van het universum.<br \/>\nIn deze tentoonstelling belicht de kunstenares de processen die minerale landschappen bepalen, vormen of uitwissen, zoals sedimentatie, erosie, verharding en kristallisatie. Veronica de Giovanelli roept meervoudige landschappen op waarin verschillende perspectieven zich over elkaar heen leggen, dichterbij komen en weer afstand nemen.Via een creatief proces van opeenvolgende gelaagdheden suggereert zij de minerale wereld door middel van werken waarin het landschap geleidelijk verdwijnt ten gunste van materie en afdruk. Haar meest recente onderzoek richt zich ook op de Belgische blauwe hardsteen, waarvan de mariene fossielen de sporen onthullen van een verdwenen landschap en de diepte van de tijd voelbaar maken in het hart van de stedelijke ruimte.<br \/>\nLithologies presenteert zo werken die vari\u00ebren van schilderkunst tot collage, van frottage tot installatie.
