Zijn werk omvat gemengde technieken, waarbij collage \u2013 die hij met acrylverf en epoxyhars samenstelt \u2013 centraal staat en een hoge technische veeleisendheid vertoont. Tot zijn recente solotentoonstellingen behoren Intarsia (2019), Ordalie (2021) en Hopelessness (2023).<br \/>\n  Hoewel hij weet dat kunst de wereld nog nooit heeft gered, zet David Crunelle zich er toch voor in. In een tijd waarin we blindelings in de leegte duiken, weet hij dat zijn schilderijen eerder grafstenen zijn dan parachutes. Zijn werken zijn een beleefd gebaar van wanhoop, een esthetische zoektocht die afstand heeft genomen van grootse verhandelingen en aanklachten, een zoektocht die niets met hoop te maken heeft.<br \/>\n  Wat een belachelijke hulpmiddelen zijn een schaar, lijm en een wirwar van papier.
