[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Ethel Lilienfeld, geboren in 1995 in Frankrijk en opgegroeid in Brussel, stelt in haar werk de groeiende impact van het virtuele lichaam op de realiteit en het dagelijks leven in vraag. Ze cre\u00ebert vreemde beelden die de spanning tussen fantasie en waanzin opvoeren. Ze stelt esthetische standaarden, sociale normen en noties van identiteit en geslacht in vraag. Het lichaam speelt een belangrijke rol in het meeste werk van de kunstenares. Hoewel ze gebruik maakt van fotografie, video-installatie en film, zijn haar installaties toch verwant aan beeldhouwkunst en is de relatie met de ruimte cruciaal. In haar video’s werkt Ethel Lilienfeld met acteurs, decors en objecten, haar inspiratie soms puttend uit fictie, dan weer uit de werkelijkheid.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ethel Lilienfeld studeerde in 2020 af met een Master in Beeldende Kunsten aan La Cambre (BE) en behaalde haar diploma lerarenopleiding in 2021. Ze zet haar werk vervolgens verder in Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains (FR) tussen 2021 en 2023. Ethel won de afgelopen tijd verschillende prijzen: Villa Albertine Grant \/ \u00c9tant Donn\u00e9s Contemporary Art(2023); PrixFintroPrijs \/ Publieksprijs en Tweede Juryprijs (2023); Productiebeurs van de F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Wallonie-Bruxelles (2022); Publieksprijs, Brussels Videonline Festival #2 in LA CENTRALE (2021); Prix Cocof (Franse Gemeenschapscommissie) in M\u00e9diatine (2021); Prix des Amis de la Cambre (2020).<\/p>\n
