Pedro Riofrio, geboren in 1996 in Quito, Ecuador, woont momenteel tussen Europa en Latijns-Amerika. Als beeldend kunstenaar, muzikant en onderzoeker verkent hij de kruispunten tussen biomaterialen, technologische innovatie en de fysieke resonanties van geluid. Zijn praktijk, diep geworteld in een dubbele culturele blik, focust op thema\u2019s als onderlinge verbondenheid, transformatie en levenscycli.<\/p>\n

Zijn werk onderzoekt de oorsprong van materie, het verstrijken van de tijd en de voortdurende metamorfoses van natuurlijke fenomenen. Hij benadrukt de gedeelde essentie van alle wezens: wij bestaan uit dezelfde materie, trillen en interageren binnen een netwerk van relaties zonder hi\u00ebrarchie. Deze visie bevraagt conventionele idee\u00ebn van scheiding en onthult de diepe onderlinge verbondenheid van alles.<\/p>\n

Hij ontwikkelt een sensitieve en organische benadering van creatie, ge\u00efnspireerd door levenscycli en schimmelwerelden. Als lid van het collectief M\u00e4ytu en de muziekgroep ROSA MARGA ontwerpt hij ruimtes waar geluid, materie en verbeelding samensmelten, met het doel transformerende en diepgaande ervaringen te cre\u00ebren.<\/p>\n

Pedro behaalde in 2023 een Master in Sculptuur aan de ARBA (Brussel). Hij nam deel aan talrijke tentoonstellingen in Belgi\u00eb, Frankrijk, Ecuador, Mexico en de Verenigde Staten. Zijn werk werd getoond in galeries en culturele centra zoals Soil Gallery (Seattle, 2025), Galer\u00eda Nasal (Mexico-Stad, juni 2025), ENSAV Bourges (Frankrijk, 2025), Festival Ars Musica (Brussel, 2024), Botanique (Brussel, 2024), Punto Rojo (Quito, Ecuador), Gery Art Gallery (Namen), Galerie Odradek XL (2023), Eleven Steens (Brussel, 2023) en de Fondation Fiminco (Parijs, 2023).<\/p>\n
