Sophie Howe, the 'World's first minister for future generations' (Guardian), makes the case for embedding future thinking in institutions. She has experienced first-hand the difference a strong voice and focal point for the long-term can make. Without it the pull of the here-and-now is often overwhelming and future generations are discounted.
She is now a global ambassador and advocate for long-term thinking in government, and is helping more countries follow Wales' lead. Sophie will reflect on recent milestones in future thinking – at the EU and UN – and the outlook for the movement to protect future generations.
