Iguarán Quartet will perform at Instituto Cervantes Brussels on Tuesday, 13 October at 6:30 p.m. The Iguarán Quartet, a Belgium-based string quartet formed by musicians from Argentina, Colombia and Spain, will take audiences on a musical journey through the landscapes of Latin American folk music, in dialogue with the language of European classical music. This concert offers a critical and sensitive perspective on the continent’s musical traditions, from Argentine chacarera to Colombian bambuco, including Andean pasillo and the stylised gato. The programme combines original arrangements for string quartet with emblematic works from the Ibero-American classical repertoire, blurring the boundaries between classical and popular music. Featured programme: Luis Gianneo – "Tres Piezas Criollas" Gentil Montaña – "Suite No. 2" Adolfo Mejía, Hermanos Ábalos, Elena Walsh, Joaquín Turina, and others. 13 October at 6:30 p.m. Instituto Cervantes, Av. Louise 140, Brussels More information: https://www.eventbrite.es/e/concierto-iguaran-quartet-tickets-2002427612894?aff=oddtdtcreator&keep_tld=true
