The recently formed Italy/Germany - based trio has set the goal of presenting contemporary music, researching and bringing together the musical languages of the individual band members to create a unique and recognizable group sound. An unusual lineup without the double bass offers wide exploration and experimentation in both composition and improvisation. Yaroslav Likhachev and Giovanni Iacovella, respectively saxophonist and drummer of the trio, both also composers, have developed a recognizable musical identity and maturity in more horizontal, atonal, and polymetric writing that has found fertile ground in the pianistic and compositional language of pianist Donatello D'Attoma the latter close as much to the stylistic nuances of the Great American Songbook as to the aesthetics of free-jazz.
