At each session, four different semi-finalists are scheduled. The first two play a concerto by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, chosen from Concertos n. 9 in E flat major KV 271, n. 15 in B flat major KV 450, n. 17 in G major KV 453, n. 18 in B flat major KV 456 and n. 27 in B flat major KV 595. They are accompanied by the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, under the baton of Vahan Mardirossion. After the break, the other two pianists perform their recital. The jury selects one of two recital programmes proposed by the candidate, each including works of the candidate’s choice and a compulsory unpublished work written especially for this year’s edition.
