Firmly rooted in the tradition of the avant-garde, the Mu Quintet relentlessly challenges conventions. This acoustic quintet from Leeds brings together musicians from, among others, the Ancient Infinity Orchestra and Matthew Halsall’s band. Inspired by artists such as Ornette Coleman, Andrew Hill, and John Coltrane, they weave rich compositions with explosive improvisations and refined melodies.
