This series tells of abandoned guardians. Far from the luminous, joyful, consoling, or youthful figure that populates our imagination, angels bear another truth: the irony of fate is that they remain nailed to the ground, as static, silent witnesses to a world that passes by and no longer looks back. Frozen in their eternal vigil, they stand watch, motionless, for decades, sometimes centuries. They have fallen not through revolt, but through weariness. Resigned, here, the angels no longer console, and their fragility is revealed. Velvety shadows and grainy textures evoke dust and transcend their obsolescence. This series invites us to reconsider our relationship to angels—and to the fragility of any belief in eternal servitude.
