WASTE makes noise. A lot of noise. The band stands for a metaphorical cry of destructiveness and melancholy. WASTE combines experimental noise with dark post-punk. This results in a solid cocktail of manic vocal outbursts, pumping drums and screeching guitar lines. You have to see WASTE live. Their live shows are bursting with energy. Be warned, because this band will – sometimes almost literally – demolish your stage and drag the audience into turbulent moshpits. Kotskat was born illegally in a bunker in Berchem during the lockdown on January 30, 2021 and appeared in public for the first time 8 guitarists and a bassist later in the Kinky Star during the Ghent Festivities on July 14, 2023. Playing a lot live turned the sloppy no wave punk band into a slightly less sloppy no wave punk band with lyrics that link the political to the personal in a sometimes funny, sometimes angry but always loving way. Roger F. delivers introspective tracks about individuality, obsessions and the impact of capitalism on art and relationships.
