What About Queer? From June 15 to July 15, 2025, Pride Museum will take over one of Brussels’ most iconic cultural landmarks - the former MIMA - with What About Queer?, a month-long programme of exhibitions, performances, artistic interventions, and public conversations exploring queer notions of time, space, and belonging. This experiment unfolds slowly and deliberately, embodying the fluidity of queerness itself. The museum will become a living, breathing space - never static, never finished. Performances, conversations, workshops, and social gatherings will create layers of meaning, shaping an experimental space through collective presence and participation. Throughout its month-long programme, the Pride Museum brings together over 60 artists, collectives, and associations based in Brussels and beyond, working across performance, visual art, research, and community-based activism. The exhibitions explore queer culture, politics, and aesthetics with a strong emphasis on curatorial sensitivity and the visibility of artworks. A diverse range of mediums - including sculpture, photography, painting, and mixed media - invite reflection, disruption, and reimagination of what queer expression can be. At the Pride Museum Nothing is fixed. Nothing is final. Each act, each presence, each exchange adds another layer to a space that rejects closure. By queering this former institution - even temporarily - Pride Museum asserts that queer space is more than a physical gathering point. What About Queer? embraces disruption as a creative and political force - a site where normative logics are unraveled and new rhythms, relationships, and realities are imagined. Based in one of Brussels’ most diverse neighbourhoods, the project reflects intersectional dynamics that echo throughout the city and far beyond.
