Writing with the senses is the guiding theme of the Benengeli Festival’s program, an initiative by the Instituto Cervantes that celebrates Spanish-language literature through its global network of centers. As part of this initiative, Brussels will host a literary symposium featuring writers Ariadna Castellarnau, Elvira Navarro, and Mercedes Abad, whose work — particularly their short stories — embodies this form of deep, sensory literary creation. The discussion will be moderated by Belgian literary critic Annae Lise Remavle and will explore writing through the lens of sensory experience, with a special focus on the female perspective in contemporary storytelling. The symposium will take place in Spanish and French
