Request support for your cultural project

The Municipality of Ixelles can grant cultural or neighborhood-related subsidies, within the limits of the annual budget. Subsidies are generally granted to organizations and individuals domiciled in Ixelles or for activities that take place in Ixelles.

The projects and organizations supported fall within the framework of the  2018-2024 general policy statement (fr) / 2018-2024 general policy statement (nl) and the 2020-2025 cultural policy plan (fr) / 2020-2025 cultural policy plan (nl).

Two types of subsidies can be awarded

The project subsidy

The objective of the project subsidy is to support a one-off cultural project. For example: an exhibition, a festival, a cycle of performances, the creation of a show. It can be a subsidy “in cash”, that is to say the payment of a sum of money, or “in non-cash”, that is to say the provision of a room or material free of charge. It is possible to make a “cash” and “non-cash” request for the same project.

The operating subsidy

The objective of this subsidy is to support an organization in a structural way within the framework of its missions. Most of the time, this is a “cash” subsidy. For example: the Municipality grants a sum of money to a place in Ixelles which organizes cultural activities. The operating subsidy is awarded per calendar year.

Some tips

Adding a project presentation file or any communication medium can help understanding and granting a subsidy.

The grant application form must be signed. In the case of an organization, verify that the person signing the form is authorized to represent your organization. For example, for an association, the name of the signatory must appear clearly in the articles of association of the association.

If you are applying as a legal person, check that your organization’s statutes are in order. Otherwise, the request is inadmissible.

If you already have a project grant granted by the Municipality of Ixelles in progress, you must first close this grant before submitting a new application.
