Sex, violence, love and the ordinariness of life. This is what Droom Dit talks about in Dutch-language poetic lyrics. Their lyrics are enveloped in a modern approach of raw electronic beats, dreamy guitar lines and cutting synthesizers. The whole thing sounds like the deepest love slowly ebbing away, the deadliness of loneliness or the bloodthirsty urge to rest your head. Inspired by acts such as Spinvis, Radiohead, King Krule, Joy Division and Wende, as well as Dutch literature by the likes of Cees Nootenboom, Droom Dit is developing a recognisable character within contemporary Dutch pop. Droom Dit originated as a project by Eindhoven-based singer-songwriter Sam de Laat. After performing on the pop stages of Brabant for some time with his English-language alt-rock band, Sam moved to Enschede to study songwriting at the conservatory and work on his Dutch-language repertoire. Now as a full band with a repertoire of autobiographical songs, Droom Dit takes to the stage with an electric energy. The shows and the music invite the audience to lose themselves as much as the band does on stage. The request is; dance, scream, sing and dream along with Droom Dit.
