Gaaci & Fusion is the musical project of Mauritanian musician Cheikou Ba, bringing together the ancestral sounds of the Pulaar tradition and contemporary influences from jazz, blues and world music. At the heart of the project is the hoddu, a traditional West African lute passed down through generations of griots and storytellers, carrying centuries of memory, poetry and cultural heritage. Surrounded by a multicultural ensemble of musicians, Cheikou Ba creates a vibrant dialogue between tradition and modernity. Hypnotic rhythms, soaring melodies and collective improvisation come together in a powerful celebration of cultural exchange, where African roots meet global sounds. Following the concert, the evening continues with the Roots Jam, an open session inviting musicians and audiences to share the stage and keep the groove alive through spontaneous encounters and musical conversations without borders.
