Before even reaching the age of thirty, Immanuel Wilkins has established himself as one of the most distinctive saxophonists in contemporary jazz. Recently, the legendary New York jazz venue Village Vanguard inspired him to a trilogy of live albums recorded with his quartet. Expect deeply soulful, expansive music, firmly rooted in the jazz tradition yet resolutely forward-looking.
