Trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire has been building a distinctive sonic world for around fifteen years, moving effortlessly between the core of jazz and its most adventurous corners. Driven by an endless urge for innovation, he constantly seeks dialogue with other genres and art forms, from spoken word to hip-hop. This openness translates into layered music full of contrasts: at times restrained and minimalistic, at others bursting with exuberant grooves. With his distinctive trumpet playing, Akinmusire leads his quartet through soundscapes that feel at once experimental, urgent, and deeply personal.
