More than 50 years ago, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, the completely new sound of the jazz fusion trio Azymuth was heard for the first time. Since then, the trio has recorded more than 30 albums and gained worldwide recognition with their self-proclaimed samba doido (“crazy samba”), a distinctive fusion of jazz-funk, samba, and electronics.
