The Vernon Spring is the solo project of London-born pianist and producer Sam Beste, who moves effortlessly through an adventurous musical universe where jazz, soul, ambient, songwriting, and improvisation intersect. This versatility has been shaped over years of collaborations with a wide range of artists including Beth Orton, Gabriels, Kano, Joy Crookes, Matthew Herbert, MF Doom, and Amy Winehouse, whom he accompanied on worldwide tours as her live pianist. Since 2019, he has drawn together these influences in The Vernon Spring, a project that merges his jazz background and his fascination with contemporary electronic production. Through albums such as A Plane Over Woods (2021), Earth, On A Good Day (2024), and Under a Familiar Sun (2025), The Vernon Spring has developed a unique sound world of ethereal piano textures and subtle electronics.
