Eliana Glass (b. 1997) is a singer, pianist and visual artist, born in Australia, raised in Seattle and based in New York. She graduated from The New School’s jazz programme, where she studied with, among others, Andrew Cyrille, Ben Street, Kris Davis and Jay Clayton. She also earned a degree in Visual Studies and Writing, moving fluidly between different media. Over the past year, she released her debut album, *E*, via Shelter Press. The album consists primarily of piano and voice. Her work pays particular attention to austerity, the voice and its relationship with the piano, a lifelong companion that has been part of her life since childhood. Elisabeth Klinck is a contemporary violinist, composer and performer based in Brussels. She is known for her timeless sonic worlds, which invite deep listening. Her albums *Picture a Frame* (2023) and *Chronotopia*, selected by The Quietus as one of the best albums of 2025, were released on the Swiss label Hallow Ground. A central aspect of her work revolves around tactility, vulnerability and a deeply physical approach to sound. In 2025, Elisabeth was selected as one of Klara’s *De Twintigers*, a group of promising young artists helping shape the future of Belgian classical music. She is also the driving force behind Klinck Trio, featuring Adia Vanheerentals and Maya Dhondt. Their debut album, *My Hair is Everywhere*, received four stars from Knack Focus. Nils Vermeulen is a Belgian double bassist active across a wide range of adventurous musical practices. He has performed with, among others, Paul Lytton, Martin Küchen, Seppe Gebruers, William Parker, John Dikeman and Luis Vicente. Moving between different scenes, from free improvisation and jazz to contemporary classical music, he performs in a wide variety of ensembles. These include his own groups Kabas and Jukwaa, a Norwegian free jazz trio with Tollef Østvang and Heidi Kvelvane, a string duo with Elisabeth Klinck, and the Nemo ensemble, of which he is the double bassist. In 2023, he released his first solo album on Aspen Edities. Vermeulen is part of the musicians’ collective Troika <3 and works as an artistic researcher affiliated with KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent. His research explores the acoustic possibilities of the double bass, with a particular focus on strings, their vibrations and their impact on the artistic outcome. He also studied instrument making. Drawing on this combined knowledge, he decided to make his own gut strings. By experimenting with different tensions, thicknesses and tunings, he explores the age-old interplay between how a material is made and how it sounds. What happens when these two interdependent processes, making the strings and playing or composing with them, come together in one and the same maker? *Pioen* is the second album by Elisabeth Klinck & Nils Vermeulen. It will be released on 27 February by blickwinkel, on vinyl and in digital formats. The album was recorded in a small chapel within a monastery in the centre of Ghent. A chapel is inherently a place of contemplation and reflection, and this inevitably shaped the music. Movements slow down, attention becomes more focused, and the overwhelming silence of the space becomes part of the music itself. Sound and silence are carefully interwoven. Even when the music grows dense and heavy at certain moments, a constant sense of closeness and intimacy remains. This is reinforced by the use of the voice, which emerges naturally throughout the album, not as a separate layer, but as an extension of the instruments. The pieces, more tightly curated this time than on their previous album *Pair, Paire*, emerged from hours of improvisation in which sound became space and space became sound.
