HOMAGE TO BARTÓK A Guitar Recital by Mathias Euillet at the Hungarian House What becomes of Hungarian music in the hands of a young guitarist? On 5 November, we will be delighted to welcome Mathias Euillet back as part of our Chamber Music Evenings, this time for a solo recital. Mathias is already a familiar face to our audience: he has previously performed with us as a member of Trio Nevera. This time, he returns alone, inviting us to discover the full richness and diversity of musical worlds that can be brought to life by a single guitar. At the heart of the evening is the music of Béla Bartók, with its folk roots, distinctive rhythms and unmistakable melodies, which take on a very special colour on the guitar. The programme will also feature works by Vittorio Monti and Johann Kaspar Mertz. Monti’s virtuosic world, inspired in particular by Hungarian sonorities, and Mertz’s Romanticism invite us to explore different facets of Central European musical traditions. Bartók | Monti | Mertz Three composers, three musical worlds, brought together this time through the voice of the guitar. The intimate salon of Hôtel Saintenoy provides an ideal setting for this recital: a space where the instrument’s most delicate nuances can be fully appreciated. After the concert, we will continue the evening over a friendly drink, offering an opportunity to meet Mathias and exchange a few words in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Thursday, 5 November 2026 – 7:00 pm Hungarian House – Hôtel Saintenoy 123, rue de l’Arbre Bénit, 1050 Ixelles Contribution: €20 | Students and seniors: €15 We look forward to welcoming you for a distinctive musical evening in which Bartók’s music will reveal itself in new colours.
