Cultural season's opening

Let’s celebrate the new cultural season in Ixelles together!

Start on Friday 17/09 at 18:00 in the Boondael district with a dance walk to the rhythm of lindy hop and an indie pop concert by Gabrielle Verleyen in the Boondael Chapel.

On Saturday 18/09, do your cultural market along the ponds, meet the Ixelles partners and enjoy the many shows and activities. And don’t forget to visit all the cultural venues in Ixelles: they will be opening their doors to you with shows and activities throughout the day! All free of charge, and for everyone.

18:00 Rhythmania (swing jazz – lindy hop)

participative dance performance

The multicultural collective Rhythmania invites you to go back to the origin of all current dances: jazz! Six dancers and two musicians with communicative joy will thrill you during this festive walk through the neighbourhood. Would you like to discover some lindy hop, charleston or swing steps? Rhythmania will teach you!

Concert

Gabrielle Verleyen proposes a universe at the crossroads between nostalgia and hope, combining simple ritornelli and aesthetic research to fit into a folk tradition with world and indie-pop accents.

16:00 : Jump Cut – Double Take Cinematic Circus

A couple, a sofa, a love story… A circus show that you watch like a film. Combining acrobatics, trampoline, Chinese mast and aerial hoop, Jump Cut transports us with finesse and poetry into the lives and dreamed journeys of two lovers.

Opening exhibition

Dedicated to contemporary visual arts, KULT XL Ateliers is: a new exhibition hall and artists’ studios. The inaugural exhibition, which runs until 26 September, presents the project, its links with the neighbourhood, and the network of upcoming studios in the Ixelles area. It also profiles the artists in residence.
